Who operates Speedle
Speedle is operated under the name Peanut Games. In this policy, “Speedle,” “Peanut Games,” “we,” and “us” refer to the operator of the game.
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to officialpeanutgames@outlook.com.
What Speedle collects
You can play without creating an account. The information involved depends on which features you use.
- Game information stored on your device: Speedle uses browser storage to remember daily progress, guesses, results, elapsed time, streaks, aggregate statistics, and whether you acknowledged the legal notice.
- Google login information: If you choose to log in, Firebase Authentication provides Speedle with your account identifier, name, email address, and profile photo. Google and Firebase may also process technical information such as IP address, browser information, and user-agent information to provide and secure authentication.
- Synced account information: Speedle stores your account identifier, name, email address, chosen leaderboard name, aggregate game statistics, and update time in Firebase Cloud Firestore.
- Leaderboard information: If you are logged in and complete all three rounds correctly, Speedle stores your chosen leaderboard name, total time, score, game number, date, and submission time. The daily leaderboard is visible only to logged-in players.
- Word validation: Guesses are checked only against a word list included with Speedle. Guesses are not sent to a separate dictionary service.
- Basic website measurement: Speedle uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits, page views, page performance, general country, referral source, browser, operating system, and device type. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not collect or use visitors’ personal data and does not track individual users across its customers’ sites.
How the information is used
- Run the daily game and preserve your progress.
- Sync statistics between devices when you log in.
- Operate the logged-in daily leaderboard.
- Validate submitted words and prevent invalid entries.
- Understand basic site traffic, diagnose performance, protect the service, and improve Speedle.
- Respond to support, privacy, safety, and legal requests.
Speedle does not sell your personal information and does not use it for targeted advertising.
Service providers
Speedle relies on the following providers to operate:
- Google Firebase: website hosting, Google authentication, and Cloud Firestore data storage. See Firebase privacy and security information and Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare: privacy-first website analytics. See Cloudflare Web Analytics information and Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
These providers may process information in countries other than your own according to their own terms and privacy practices. Speedle may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, prevent abuse, or protect the service.
Storage and retention
Information stored in your browser remains there until you clear your browser data or Speedle replaces it. Firebase account data and leaderboard entries are kept while reasonably needed to operate Speedle, maintain game records, resolve problems, and meet legal obligations. They may remain until you request deletion or the service removes them.
Security rules restrict each signed-in player’s private user record to that account. Logged-in players can read the daily leaderboard. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and requests
- Play without logging in if you do not want account information stored in Firebase.
- Clear Speedle’s device data through your browser’s site-data controls.
- Log out to disconnect the current Google account from the game on that browser.
- Email us to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of account information associated with your email address. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you.
Some rights depend on where you live. We will review verified requests under applicable law.
Children
Speedle is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A child can play without logging in. If you believe a child provided account information, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Speedle changes. The effective date at the top will be updated, and Speedle may show the legal notice again when a material change requires renewed acknowledgment.
